Thousands of L.A. buildings at risk from quakes
Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 2:48PM Even after multiple revisions to seismic codes, thousands of buildings in Los Angeles remain vulnerable to earthquakes, a leading expert told the City Council Friday.
A spokesman for the Building Industry Association of Los Angeles-Ventura Counties, said they welcome working with the city on new codes. "Building codes are an ongoing process," BIA spokesman John Frith said. "We just tightened them a couple of years ago."
