BIA/LAV is committed to developing educational opportunities for our members. By providing educational information and valuable tools to our members, we can better prepare them for the issues that will increasingly affect their business in the coming months and years.
"Hot Topic" Educational Forums
- Each month the BIA/LAV office hosts an educational forum on a topic of current interest to the membership. They are designed for small groups and to profile products and services from our members on these topics. Forums include a wide range of topics, including water conservation, energy savings, and social networking. The forums are reasonably priced and held at the BIA/LAV office, including light refreshments and an opportunity to make connections with other members."Hot Topic" forums are held on the last Thursday of each month.
Repair Renovate and Paint (RRP) Certification Training
- Beginning in April 2010, renovation, repair and painting contractors must be "RRP certified" and use lead safe work practices when working in homes built before 1978. BIA, in partnership with HomeSafe (an EPA Accredited Training Provider) offers these classes across Southern California. Learn more about the RRP rule.
National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)

NAHB University of Housing
- In order to provide easier access, more efficient management, enhanced program quality, and comprehensive information about educational opportunities, The NAHB University of Housing was formed to consolidate educational offerings into one location.
