Education

BIA/LAV is committed to developing educational opportunities for our members. By providing educational information and valuable tools to our members, we can better prepare them for the issues that will increasingly affect their business in the coming months and years.  

Speaker Series

  • Several times each year, the Chapter invites a leader from the LA/Ventura region to speak with  members in a small-group luncheon setting. The speaker series features elected officials, directors from planning and building & safety departments and other regional regulatory bodies.

 Repair Renovate and Paint (RRP) Certification Training

  • Beginning in April 2010, renovation, repair and painting contractors must be "RRP certified" and use lead safe work practices when working in homes built before 1978. BIA, in partnership with HomeSafe (an EPA Accredited Training Provider) offers these classes across Southern California. Learn more about the RRP rule.

 National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)

  • NAHB regularly holds educational seminars and discussions on a variety of topics impacting homebuilders and the homebuilding industry. For more information on these seminars and to get an up-to-date event schedule please visit www.nahb.org and click on the education link.

NAHB University of Housing

  •  In order to provide easier access, more efficient management, enhanced program quality, and comprehensive information about educational opportunities, The NAHB University of Housing was formed to consolidate educational offerings into one location. Serving as the facilitator of all NAHB education products, including 15 national conferences and tours, The NAHB University of Housing and our sponsor, Countrywide Home Loans, National Builder Division, are committed to helping our members and the building industry "Reach Higher and Work Smarter."   • The Online Learning Library offers a cost-effective, time saving and flexible training solution designed to accommodate the needs and schedule of the employee covering various topics in construction, industry and manufacturing that can be taken at the employee’s convenience.
